Terms of Use
Last updated: March 30, 2026
This is a translation of the French original. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the Hagiographia mobile application (hereinafter “the Application”), published by Emmanuel Jensen, sole trader (micro-entrepreneur), France.
2. Description of the application
Hagiographia is a Catholic reference application for consulting the lives of the saints, their liturgical feasts and associated prayers, according to the Roman calendar (Vatican I and Vatican II).
3. Access and use
The Application is intended for personal, spiritual and non-commercial use. Any commercial use without prior authorization is prohibited.
4. Intellectual property
All content of the Application — hagiographic texts, prayers, database, design, typography, icons — is the exclusive property of the publisher or is used under appropriate licenses (in particular the SIL Open Font License for the Cinzel and EB Garamond fonts).
Any reproduction, extraction or redistribution of the content without written permission is prohibited.
5. Sources of the prayers
The prayers offered in the app are of three kinds:
- Compositions of liturgical inspiration — original prayers written in the style of the Roman collects, without claiming any official liturgical status. These make up the majority of the prayers offered.
- Liturgical prayers — taken or adapted from the Roman Missal, the traditional collects or other approved Catholic liturgical sources.
- Prayers of the saints themselves — authentic words or writings attributed to the saints, drawn from recognized historical sources.
6. Images and depictions
The images illustrating the saints in the app are artistic depictions generated by artificial intelligence. They are provided for illustrative purposes only and are not official liturgical icons or canonically approved depictions. These images are the property of the publisher.
7. Accuracy of content
The hagiographic content is based on recognized Catholic sources (notably Les Petits Bollandistes). The publisher strives to ensure its accuracy but cannot be held liable for any errors or omissions.
8. Limitation of liability
The Application is provided “as is”. The publisher does not guarantee continuous availability and disclaims all liability for any direct or indirect damage that may result from its use.
9. Changes
The publisher reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. Changes take effect as soon as they are published on this page.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute falls within the jurisdiction of the French courts.
